Montclair's General Plan brings housing, neighborhoods, mobility, the local economy, parks, and community facilities together in the city's long-term planning. The City's 2021–2029 Housing Element describes policies to maintain and expand the housing supply for households living in Montclair and those expected to live here.

The Housing Element addresses a mix of housing types and costs, maintenance of the existing housing stock, barriers to development, and sites for new homes at different income levels. These plans guide how the city accommodates household needs as Montclair grows and changes.

As a community changes, homeowners and business owners take on long-term obligations—mortgages, education costs, and support for people who rely on their income. Term life insurance can help families plan for those obligations and leave a financial benefit for the people they name.
